Anime North 2004 con report – Friday

The most stressful Cosplay week of my life! On Friday, I still wasn’t done Momo and Momo-2…so when I came home after school, I was working like mad!! Satsuki and my other friend came over because they were gonna hitch a ride and stuff ^__^” and they just sat there and watched…BAH! Rushing, I got Satsuki into Momo and myself into WM Garnet. We finally got there, and realized the line-up was almost a mile long… x.x pre-reg took up about 30 minutes of my life, BUT! People were taking pics of me and satsuki in the line, that was cool, plus I had my bunnie ^__^-

When we got in, RAN TO THE ART ROOM! Lol…and unloaded my dollies, they got glomped over the weekend, which was really funny. People didn’t know I was the doll maker, and they are all like “OMG, I WANT THAT!!” it was quite amusing. Then we walked around and got annoyed with the stupid layout for the dealers room. My friend went manga happy, and I was like “they don’t have anything I want.” (well…except the gloomy bears.. XD)

Around 10, we left because I wanted to get home and finish up KOS-MOS and Momo-2. so stressful! I didn’t sleep until 4am that day…

Saturday

After sleeping for 4 hours, Kuma came over and woke me up. I was cranky and sleepy. Rawr.. I made her do the last touches for Momo-2 while I went and started packing up the components for KOS-MOS. Satsuki came over and we all left the house about 9:30. we got the convention around 10. Alpha-z was waiting for us at the dealers room....except we all had to change and he met up with us an hour later very grumpy and pissed off ^__^”

In the morning, when I first walked out of the bathroom, I GOT GLOMPED BY SO MANY PEOPLE! But then my visor kept falling down…and my arm wing thingies fell off…AND PEOPLE WERE STILL TAKING PICTURES…SO EMBARASSING! >__<” once fixed, my group went and rocked the con! People were staring at me though…it was kinda weird wearing PVC ^__^ I like that stuff now lol. Most of the day consisted of people snapping pictures and me dying of thirst because I wouldn’t drink water. YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GO TO THE BATHROOM IN KOS-MOS??! INSANELY DIFFICULT…it took me 30 minutes…BAH!

During some picture snapping, some dude comes up to me and asks me to slap him… it was so funny. Then I had to step on him. I was quite shocked! But the picture is so hilarious ^__^ so many people came up to me and told me how great my costume was and what an excellent job I did on it. I guess people didn’t notice that it wasn’t done…

During the afternoon, we sat around for about a total of 3 hours because Kuma and my feet were killing us. 5-INCH HEELS LOOK AWESOME..BUT VERY PAINFUL! By the time the green room line-up came, we ended up standing up for around 2 hours before we got into our “dens”. Thank god we were in den 11 and #47. Being in Kos-Mos for over 10 hours straight is SOO painful. By the end of the day, my Kos-Mos costume was falling apart and looked awful. But I managed to not have anything fall off in the masquerade! So my accomplishment was achieved! Yay! Our skit rocked though! I loved swinging the scythe and looking like I kick butt! And the audience was AWESOME! They were screaming and whistling. Wonderful experience. The BLACKOUT was kick-ass! People were screaming like it was the end of the world, but I thought it was funny. Delayed the masquerade though…didn’t like that.

We left around 11:30 and when I got home, I ate food, food, and food. My feet were so sore, and they’d be sore for the next 2-3 days. *curse those shoes*

Sunday

Our group slept in and got to AN around 12. we wandered around the dealers room and to my disappointment I still could not find anything I wanted. We finally went to the renaissance hotel, and we never got past the lobby because my sis had landed from her trip to Winnipeg. So we went back to the TCC. After 4 hours of doing nothing, we got bored and went home.
